Assumed Knowledge If you have previous experience of boating and navigation the course can be reduced to 1 day
Course Content - Launch & recovery - Safely equipment - Pre-start Checks - Starting & Stopping - Maneuvering at high speed - Maneuvering at slow speed - Use of kill cords - Steering controls - Securing to a buoy - Leaving and coming alongside - Leaving and coming into a berth (box) - Being towed - IRPCS - Rope work and use of fenders - Awareness of other water users - Anchoring - Man Over Board - Dealing with waves - Communication with the crew - Refuelling - Effect of currents & tides - Weather forecast - Emergency action - Propeller control - Using the compass and steering a course - Reading and understanding a navigational chart - Calculating a Course - Use of GPS & Chart Plotter

ASA Power Boat level 1 & 2 courses

This course is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence

Our Super Power Boat is a 18ft N-Zo 600 Zodiac RIB with 1 x 150HP Yamaha engine equipped with VHF & Chart plotter.

For experienced RYA qualified skippers it is possible to gain direct assessment during one day

 

Power Boat Level 1:

Introduction to power boating for youngsters in order to be capable to steer and control the boat under supervision of an adult

Power Boat Level 2:

During this 1 or 2 day course (depending on your previous experience & ability) where we teach you the basic skills and background knowledge needed to drive a high speed craft along the coast in familiar waters during daylight hours.
