Canary Sail are working hard behind the scenes under this imposed cloak of Coronavirus Lock Down. Never before since the forming of the company 17 years ago have we had such a Golden Opportunity to take stock, take a deep breath and really get down to the minute detail in our yacht maintenance and cleanliness as right now.
The attention to detail extends to changing all fittings, fixtures, bolts and screws as we work our way “MOT/ITV/TUV” style through the yachts, Bow to Stern, Inside/Out, Top to Bottom.
Currently below decks are stripped bare of doors, drawers, panels, rails and tables all located at our appointed carpenter´s workshop receiving tender loving care in a total restoration of all furnishings. Fixed frames and panels below decks are also being meticulously sanded and re varnished. New hinges, knobs, handles, rails and screws are on order ready for the re-fit installation.
Magi will have new saloon cushions!
All fittings will be removed from the decks allowing access for careful touch up rework, sanding, polishing and waxing of the coach roof and upper decks. All stanchions and bases will be removed, re sealed and replaced/renewed, steering wheel bearings & seals replaced. All steering wheels will receive new leather covers for extra comfort at the helm.
We are replacing not just seal kits, toilet lids, etc. but install complete toilet units, pumps, pipework and sea cocks – completely NEW!
Lockers will be polished and painted. The contents cleaned, renovated or replaced. New mooring lines will be added.
Masts will be climbed with a fully technical check of mast top fixings, electronics, mechanics and a full rigging check, clean and polish, top to bottom.
Engines will be serviced, leaks repaired and the engines cleaned and polished. Control levers, throttle and clutch cables, steering gear and rudders will be stripped and re greased.
The boats will be lifted and hulls will be polished, waxed and anti fouled prior to the restart.
