An advanced course in meteorology and navigation for those aspiring to Yachtmaster Coastal and Yachtmaster Offshore Certification. This course provides revision of the Day Skipper Theory Course without which the successful completion of this more advanced skills level is unlikely to be possible. Therefore completion of the RYA Day Skipper theory course is highly recommended prior to attempting this level. This on-line theory course is delivered by our partners “Navathome”.

Combined theory/practical courses with Canary Sail are offered at a discounted package
The course takes approximately 50-60 hours with a long assessment of 3 parts
(IRPCS:1.5 hours, Passage Making A:1.5 hours and Passage Making B:2 hours).
These can be taken in one sitting or as 3 separate papers.
It is a mandatory RYA requirement for the student to hold a full working knowledge of the theory to Day Skipper level for enrolment onto this course.
Position, The magnetic compass, Tides, Tidal Streams, Buoyage, Lights, Pilotage, GPS and chart plotters, Echo sounders, Logs (speed and distance measuring), Deck log, Meteorology, Rules of the Road, Safety at Sea, Passage planning.
This course is the ideal method to advance to your next level – RYA Coastal Skipper Practical Completion certificate and/or your MCA/RYA exam. On successful completion of this Navathome theory course, you will receive an official RYA certificate signed by Navathome.

There is an initial access period of 6 months which is plenty of time to complete any of the courses offered. Your access can be extended at any time for up to two years after your access runs out for an admin fee of £30.
Access lapses completely and your log in is deleted if your course has run out and you have not extended within two years of your course access expiry date.
Once you have completed the coursework and passed the assessment, your course is completed and you course access is terminated. You can request access to the revision course at this time.
