Typical Itinerary (one week cruise)

Day 1 (Saturday – 17.00) – Travel/Arrival Day

We will meet and welcome you as you arrive at our sailing base. You are taken to your yachts for a short safety brief  and invited to join us for drinks to meet the team, your instructors and fellow students or crew who start their full week courses. You will be made very welcome by the Canary Sail team and we can advise the best restaurants for you to sample!

Day 2/3 (Sunday & Monday)

Prepare the yacht and following delivery of freshly prepared food on board, set sail for Gran Canaria or even directly to Rubicon, Lanzarote (this will depend on weather and crew).

Day 4 (Tuesday)

Once you have reached Rubicon – Lanzarote, your remaining cruise will be with the wind behind or on the beam (in NE winds).

Day 5/6 (Wednesday & Thursday)

Further sailing west now returning to Tenerife, via, for example Morro Jable – Fuerteventura and the beautiful Puerto Mogan on the south of Gran Canaria. Maybe some time to spend on Mogan which again is beautiful with the marina situated directly in front of the town!

Day 7 (Friday)

Sail back across the WAZ to Tenerife and return to San Miguel Marina. You are welcome to join clients from other yachts for drinks and dinner in one of the favourite restaurants. Remember – accommodation on board for your final evening is included!

Day 8 (Saturday) – Departure/Return Travel Day/Day off for those clients staying on

Leave the yacht at 09.00 latest please for your return home or to continue your holiday in Tenerife.  Please see our stay page for accommodation.

FAQs for Eastern Canary Islands Sailing Cruise

This cruise is designed for sailors with some previous experience. Participants should have completed a Competent Crew course or possess equivalent sailing knowledge and skills.

The itinerary includes stops at Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and Gran Canaria, with opportunities for night sailing and exploring various harbours and marinas.

The cost includes your own cabin, six or eight days of cruising with instructor guidance, and the chance to passage plan and skipper the yacht.

Accommodation options range from saloon berths and panel-divided twin cabins to single occupancy cabins and double cabins for couples. Prices vary based on the selected option.

Participants should bring appropriate sailing gear, personal items, and any necessary medications. It’s also advisable to bring enthusiasm and readiness to learn and enjoy the experience.

Yes if required, wet weather suits will be provided for all cruise weeks
