Week 1 - Typical Itinerary

Day 1 (Saturday – 17.00)

We will meet and welcome you at our sailing base. You are then settled on board with a short safety brief and invited to join us for drinks to meet the team, your instructors and fellow students or crew who start their full week courses. You will be made very welcome by the Canary Sail team and we can advise the best restaurants for you to sample!

Day 2

Prepare the yacht including a full safety brief. Set sail for Las Galletas, north Tenerife for an initial short “shakedown” sail to settle you all in. Relax for the evening in this charming marina offering a good choice of restaurants and relaxing bars.

Day 3

Prepare to set off early for the sail up to Santa Cruz, La Palma (or Tazacorte). This is a full day sailing, usually on a beam reach (in NE winds) which should get you into your destination in time for dinner. Once again, a great choice of local restaurants awaits you all! The marina here is new and offers great facilities including relaxing bars around the marina, Wi-Fi, etc.

Day 4/5

Maybe some time to look around this truly beautiful town before setting off again around the north of La Palma to the quite, relaxing location of Tazacorte. Again the marina facilities are new, the restaurants good and the small village and beach offer a quaint, relaxed holiday atmosphere – a real gem!

Day 6/7

Sail back to the west coast of La Gomera to Valle Gran Rey (Vueltas). This is a small fishing harbour offering the best fresh fish anywhere along with plenty of other, international choice of food. Good fun in the cocktail bar till late for those with energy enough!

Day 9

Prepare the yacht and following delivery of freshly prepared food, set sail for the North of Tenerife or even directly to Rubicon, Lanzarote (this will depend on weather and crew).

Day 10

Once you have reached Rubicon – Lanzarote, your remaining cruise will be with the wind behind or on the beam (in NE winds).

Day 11/12

Sail the east coast of Fuerteventura to Moro Jable and onto the beautiful port of Puerto Mogan.

Day 13

Sail back around the southwest coast of Tenerife to San Miguel Marina. You are invited to join the rest of the team and other crews for drinks and dinner in one of our favourite restaurants. Remember – accommodation on board for your final evening is included!
