It is required for you to take the RYA on- line SRC course before joining us. We can provide you with all the required links and information to get you started. The study and on-line course takes 10 hours and will prepare you for the practical assessment and exam here at our RYA school

This on-line course and assessment will teach and test you on the rules and procedures for radio operation. As a boat owner or user of a hand held or fixed marine radio set, you are required by law to hold a radio operators licence. This on-line course and assessment will teach and test you on the rules and procedures for radio operation. All new VHF sets are now fitted with DSC (Digital Selective Calling) allowing calls to specific vessels as well as the emergency procedures for sending digital distress, urgency and safety calls. This course covers all aspects of DSC and explains the Global Maritime Distress and safety System (GMDSS) in detail. This course is also available as a presentation course over a min 1.5 day period. This now requires 2 separate assessors to be present at our school – please check with us for availability.
